Biographical Sketch:
His parents, Charles and Ann (Pickney) Holbrook, moved to Michigan in late 1848. He taught school for 12 years. He farmed from 1873-89. He served as Delhi township treasurer; clerk, 1875 and supervisor. Appointed chief deputy oil inspector, 1890-91; deputy labor commissioner, 1897 and 1899. He was a lecturer at the State Grange, 1883-85 and was Grange overseer, 1886-87. He was one of the organizers of the Zach Chandler Club of Ingham Co.; a member of the Michigan Club of Detroit. Member of the Masons, Knights of the Maccabees and the Eastern Star.
