Biographical Sketch:
He emigrated with his parents to Kingston, Canada in 1847 and then to Oswego, NY in 1848. He shipped on a vessel sailing the great lakes from 1849-52 before entering the Clark Dry-Dock Co. shipyard where he plied his trade until 1857. he served as alderman of the 12th ward of Detroit.
