Grand Rapids schools; one year at Albion College; graduated from Chicago Homeopathic Medical College in 1881 and post graduate courses in 1890, 1894, 1899 and 1901.
Biographical Sketch:
Of English ancestry. Son of Frederick M. and Louisa E. (King) Huntley. The family moved to Grand Rapids, MI, via Wisconsin, in 1963. After leaving school he was a wool turner for one year and taught school. In 1874, he studied medicine with Dr. William Whippy in Goshen, IN before attending medical school. He began practicing medicine in Jennings, Missaukee Co., MI in 1882. In May 1886, he moved to Manton, Wexford Co. He served as postmaster; member of the Board of US Pension Examiners; and an officer in the Manton Development Association. He became a partner in the Williams Mercantile Co. in November 1902, serving as president of the company for a time. He served as township clerk 4 years, village assessor 7 years, and also served on the board of education. Member of the Masons; Shiners; the Michigan State Medical Society and the Tri-county Medical Society.
