Of English descent. Emigrated about 1887. Moved to Houghton Co., MI with his parents at age 14. After receiving his law degree, he practiced law in Calumet, MI. Attorney for Laurium for 6 terms; elected Houghton Co. Circuit Court Commissioner twice. Director of the First National Bank of Laurium and of the Laurium Park Association. He later moved to Chicago and then to Palm Beach, FL.
