Biographical Sketch:
He was the son of Payne Kenyon Leech and Joanna Clark. He started in the mercantile business at Palmyra, NY, but after a few years emigrated to the west. In 1830 he settled at Utica, MI, where he engaged in the milling and dry goods business. He became a prominent citizen of the place and was a member of the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan, 1838-1840
