Biographical Sketch:
Moved to Michigan, 1854. He settled in Rockland, MI as a warehouse clerk for Willard & Day for a number of years. He worked briefly for a Minnesota mining company as a clerk before going into business in 1867, opening a mercantile near the Quincy mine. In 1879, he was living in Hancock, MI. Engaged in mercantile pursuits, retail grocery, mining, lumbering & banking. He was president of the National Bank in Hancock and proprietor of the mineral springs in Mt. Clemens.
