Biographical Sketch:
Son of Peter C. and Mary (Mack) Burns. He served as assistant prosecuting attorney for Saginaw Count 1939-1952; Michigan Public Service Commissioner, 1957, resigning as chairman in 1963. Served as judge in the Michigan Court of Appeals 1969-86. He was a member of the Saginaw Courts and the Michigan State Bar, Michigan State Bar Fellows, the Supreme Court Historical Society and the Society of Irish American Lawyers. In 1981, he was named Judge of the Year by the Michigan Trial Lawyers group. He served in the 68th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 14th Armored Div. in Europe as a Captain
