Biographical Sketch:
Son of George and Delia (Richards) Brown. He was principal at the Fredonia Academy in Portage Co. for a time. In 1855, he published a newspaper in Cuyahoga Co. He moved to St. Joseph, MI in 1859. He served as Circuit Court Commissioner of Berrien Co. then moved to Kalamazoo in 1867, where he was elected circuit court judge in 1869. He resigned this post in 1874. He moved to Port Huron, MI. He was one of the incorporators of the Port Huron & Northwestern Railway company in 1878. He edited 2 volumes of "Michgian Nisi Prius Cases". After retiring from the bench, he practiced law in Port Huron before moving to St. Ignace. He was living in Marqutte, MI in 1900.
