Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish descent. Eldest son & 3rd child of John & Barbara (Wixson or Wixon)) McMahon. Went out on his own at age 14. At 23 enter Michigan U. Law dept. for 1 term. Read law in Lexington for 8 months; admitted to the bar & moved to Marlette, MI, 1873. Held many local offices, including prosecuting attorney.

Committees: Insurance (chair); Liquor Traffic; Railroads; Immigration; & Normal Schools. Died between 1893 and 1900. A daughter was born in 1892 and Mrs. McMahon is listed as a widow in Sault Ste. Marie in the 1900 US Census.
