Biographical Sketch:
He was president of the Grand Rapids Milk Producers' Association and a director of the Michigan State Milk Producers' Association. He served as Cannon Township school inspector; supervisor; county clerk [1896-1900]; undersheriff [1901-03]; deputy sheriff; county social welfare commissioner; and register of deeds [1907-15]. He was on the board of supervisors representing Cannon Township [1920-24]. He served as county superintendent of the poor until 1939. the joined the welfare commission. Member of the Masons, the Elks, the Maccabees, the Farm Bureau, Grange, the Grand Rapids Court of Foresters and the camp of Woodmen
