He lived in Maine for a time. He operated a general merchandise business in Rudyard, MI for many years. Served as township treasurer and supervisor; elected chairman of the County Board of Supervisors, 1908. Member of the Masons, the Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias and Knights of the Maccabees.
