Biographical Sketch:
Son of Russ? or Zuer? and Alvira (Fisher) Graves. On April 23, 1860, he enlisted in company G, 19th Ohio volunteer infantry , and served 5 months. He reenlisted in company L, 2nd Ohio cavalry and served 2 and one-half years. In 1888 he was appointed by Governor Luce upon the board of managers of the Soldiers ' Home at Grand Rapids. In March , 1893 , he resigned to become Commandant of the Soldiers ' Home.
