Biographical Sketch:
Son of Emerson F. and Sarah E. (Burt) Giles. He was engaged in cigar making from 1879 to 1883, after which he located on a farm in Muskegon township. He was supervisor of Muskegon township from 1895 to 1902, and resigned January 1, 1902, to accept the office of register of deeds of Muskegon county, which office he held for 4 years. He was chairman of the board of supervisors for 2 years. Member of the Grange, the Masons and the Knights of the Maccabees
