Of Scotch-Irish ancestry. Son of James and Mare [or Marin] (King) Henry. He moved to Battle Creek in 1882. In 1902, he platted and promoted the village of Urbandale. Held the office of police judge 4 years. Served as member of board of supervisors 12 years, part of that time as chairman of the board. Also served 3 terms as Battle Creek city assessor and was a justice of the peace. Member of the Odd Fellows and Elks.
