Biographical Sketch:
He was one of the first settlers of the Upper Peninsula and was involved in the development of mining interests there. He was known to trek across the UP on foot. Advocated for the construction of the Sault Canal.

Born in NY; exact birth date unknown. 1st representative from Houghton and Ontonagaon Counties. Wanderer is the occupation given in the 1857 and 1863 Manuals. His post office was Ontonagon.
