Biographical Sketch:
Son of Peter & Maria Catherine (Lausen) Jensen. At 17, young Peter sailed from Denmark to Escanaba area in June 1881. He worked for local farmers of Bay de Noc Township until March of 1893 when he moved to Escanaba and joined a fishing business (Hansen & Jensen) & purchased a farm. Later added an oil & gas to fishery activities, opening service stations as use of autos spread. 4 yrs City Council; Township Highway Commission; Member Masons & M.W. of A. [Modern Woodmen of America]

Notable Facts:
First independent oil & gas dealers in Delta Co. County and state marriage records give different dates for 2nd marriage. State says Feb.26, county says Feb 6, 1897.
