Biographical Sketch:
Mr. Garrison was born in Farmer, Seneca County, NY but was removed to Shiawassee County, MI in 1837 with his parents. He attended common school until age 20 when he learned the carpenter and joiner's trade. He abandoned mechanical pursuits and instead engaged with Mr. M Harrington in a general mercantile business in Vernon, making partner. In 1859 he partnered with his brother in the same business until a fire in 1871 destroyed both of their stores. After that they built a larger brick building and started again. He was a Republican and Mason.

Notable Facts:
Director and stockholder in the First National Bank of Corunna since its organization. Master of Masonic Lodge.
