Biographical Sketch:
Left MD in 1828 because of his aversion to slavery. Lived then in Newark NJ and Avon NY. Came to MI in 1834, settled and lived in Genesee CO until his death. Lived first ten years in Grand Blanc, afterwards in Flint. Served as Justice of the Peace 1835-1844,and Sheriff, 1844-46. Was a preacher at the local church the last 25 years of his life and is said to have married and buried more people than any other in Genesee CO. Served as Superintendent of the Poor in his later years.
