Biographical Sketch:
His father (Howard) was from Whitingham, VT; mother Lucy (Pettingill). Homer played ball 1888-95, the last 5 years for the Iron Copper League in Marquette, MI. Served as alderman & mayor. He was appointed postmaster of Sturgis February, 1923; served in that position until October, 1933.
Began working at 15. He became a cigar maker at 19 and worked in various parts of the state until 1898, when he purchased an interest in a cigar store and factory in Sturgis. Member of the Masons. According House Resolution No. 11, 1945 House Journal, p. 40, he had died. No date of death included in the journal, however prior record in this record indicated that he died 12/3/1944.

Died in office in 1944 in a fatal automobile accident.
Captain of the 11th Michigan Infantry.
