Son of Charles H. Braun and Emma D. (Roush) Braun. Moved to Branch County MI with his parents when he was 6 years old. Grew up in Quincy, MI. Taught agriculture for 5 years at Owosso High school; served as Owosso's prosecuting attorney in 1934-38. Member, Alpha Gamma Rho; Phi Kappa Delta.
