Biographical Sketch:
Of German/Swiss ancestry. Son of John and Margaret (Ross) Guggisberg. He emigrated to the US around 1910 and was naturalized in 1915. He & his brothers operated a shoe store called Guggisberg Bros. in Gaylord since 1910.
Held positions on the Gaylord city council and the board of education, as chairman of the Otsego County Republican committee and on the board of managers of state fairs.
Notable Facts:
He is a cousin of Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg.
