Biographical Sketch:
Engaged in the field of labor and workers education on a state level and served as director of the Workers Service Program of Michigan for two years; admitted to practice law in Indiana in 1935; educational consultant for the Michigan C.I.O. Council, 1942-1946; member of the advisory committee to the secretary of the United States Department of Labor on workers education; assistant director of education of the United Automobile workers of American, 1946-1949; served as a member of the advisory committee of the American Labor education service and inter-representative of the U.A.W.-C.I.O.; elected Democratic Floor Leader of the House of Representatives in 1959, 1961, and 1963. He died at Lansing General Hospital.
