Son of Aaron and Lydia Davis. He settled in Oakfield Township in 1838. He served as township treasurer 1855-60 and 1877; supervisor in 1861-64, 1866-74 and 1878.

Notable Facts:
Born in New York state; exact date not known. Death record gives age as 75 yrs 7 months; if correct his birth date may be March 30, 1815. First settler in Oakfield Township. His son William H. H. Davis was the first white child born there; born in 1840.
