Biographical Sketch:
Son of Frank and Florence (Currie) Hart. He was a lawyer in Detroit for 30 years. He ran for his same office unsuccessfully in 1934, 1936, 1938 and 1940. He was a member of the Detroit Yacht Club and won the great lakes cabin cruiser championship in 1930. Other memberships included the Palestine Lodge, Detroit Consistory and the Moslem Temple Shrine.

Notable Facts:
He authored the Capital Punishment Bill of the 1921 Session. He committed suicide. According to what his wife Catherine told police, Russell had complained of head pain since he was in an auto accident 3 years before his death.
