Biographical Sketch:
Arrived in Albion in 1837 with his parents. From 1842-50, hehelped on the farm summers and either attended or taught school during the winter. In 1850 he turned to fulltime farming in South Albion. He held not public office until elected to the legislature. Drowned in Albion.

Temperance advocate He was a Democrat until 1872 when he became a Republican.
