Biographical Sketch:
Of English ancestry. Son of John and Annie (Barrett) Jolly. Of English & Cornish descent. Worked in the mines for 3 yrs before studying law at 1st Valparaiso University, then at Detroit College of Law. Practiced law at South Range 1915-23. He was Asst. Prosecuting Attorney, Houghton Co. 1917-21. In 1923, he became an assistant in the GM legal dept; became the general attorney, 6/1937-1941. He was then made head of the public relations department..

Notable Facts:
His wife, Ester, was the 1st woman elected mayor in Michigan (mayor of the village of South Range, 1918). Died Oct 1951.
