Biographical Sketch:
At the age of 18, he moved with his parents, Thomas and Charlotte (Sackett) McKenzie, to Concord, MI. He was associated with his father for 14 years as builder, architect, contractor and builder of fine homes. On October 15, 1888, he purchased the Concord Independent, later named the Concord News ,of which he was publisher over 36 years. He was a member of the Masonis; Eastern Star; and Modern Woodmen. He served his township as treasurer and clerk, and has served the village of Concord as councilman, clerk and treasurer.
