Biographical Sketch:
In 1871, he came with his parents, Samuel and Mary Margaret (Buesley or Beasley) VanEvery, to Michigan. At the age of twenty-one, he formed a partnership with a brother, known as Van Every Bros. Four years later they established the town of Van, consisting of a store, hotel and mills for the manufacture of lumber and shingles. These mills were operated untill the timber supply was exhausted. For 12 years he was intrested in real estate and building. Was a member of the Knights Templar and Saladin Temple A.A.O.N.M.S.
