Biographical Sketch:
Of German ancestry. Son of John and Fanny (Shantz) Amon. He moved to Caledonia, Kent Co., MI at age 5. 1882, he moved to Remus, Mecosta Co. and platted a portion of the village. He served as supervisor of Wheatland Township for 20 years; chairman of the board, 4 years. He was president of the Remus State bank and was connected with bank: in Six Lakes, Blanchard, and Evart.

Notable Facts:
Served in both chambers. He was called the "father of consolidated schools in Michigan." Died from heart disease.
