Biographical Sketch:
Of German descent. Son of Augustus and Johanna (Bauer) Gansser. Moved to Bay City in June, 1881. He worked in a mill from 1884-1886; 1886-1896, collector and clerk; insurance agent, 1898-1910. Served in Michigan National Guard beginning in 1892 and participated in the battle and siege of Santiago in 1898. He was a captain in Co B, 3rd Michigan Infantry. Eventually became Lt. Col of the 125 Infantry, 32nd Div. Member K. of P., Elks, Odd Fellows.
Notable Facts:
Died in 1951. Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 39, p. 931, 1951 House Journal reported that he had died. No date or place of death reported.
