Biographical Sketch:
Of American & German descent. Son of Linnus and Wilhelmina (Roehm) Stannard. He clerked in his father's store for 3 years. At 21, he was employed as shipping clerk in a wholesale hardware concern at Marquette for 1 year and left there and engaged in the general merchandise business in partnership with his brother at Wakefield . The brothers carried on this business for 6 years at Wakefield, and moved to Greenfield in 1899. Held local offices, including chairman of the board of Superintendents of the Poor for Ontonagon County. Member of the Masons & the Knights of Pythias
