Biographical Sketch:
Of English and Dutch ancestry. Son of Henry W. and Flora Belle (VanHusen) Standart. He began his law practice in Detroit as a member of the firm Moore, Standart and Drake. He left law in 1908 to be treasurer of the National Loan and Investment Co. and was later its president. He served on the Grosse Pointe Council for 4 years. He was a member of the Yondotega Club [where he died, suddenly], the Detroit Country Club, the University Club and the Grosse Pointe Club, as well as, Sigma Phi fraternity.
