Biographical Sketch:
Son of Valentine and Bron (Nowakowska) Jankowski. He emigrated to the United States in about 1891, growing up in Buffalo, NY. At age 13, he began working in a factory and attended school evenings, later taking up technical courses in the Buffalo Technical high school. He worked as bell boy during the summer months for 4 years on steamers running between Buffalo and Detroit in order to get money to educate himself during the winters. In 1910, he became a clerk in justice court in the city of Detroit, where he remained for 4 years, at the same time taking up law at the Detroit College of Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1914 and engaged in the practice of law. He was associated with the Cadillac Savings Bank of Detroit and subdivisions, president of the National Protective League of America and belongs to several other organizations. He is also a member of the Detroit Lawyers Club, Detroit Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association and American Bar Association, honorary member of the Barbers' Association and chairman of board of directors of Chene Business Association of Detroit.

While traveling to Washington with U.S. Rep. Clarence J. McLeod, their car skidded on an icy road, and collided with a lumber truck; he suffered a skull fracture, and died a few days later in a hospital at Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio, December 2, 1930
