Representative from Lenawee county in 1843, and Senator in 1849-1850, 1853, was born in Ashford, Conn., May 17, 1814. He became a clerk at the age of fifteen, and settled in Clinton, Mich., in 1837. He was a merchant and miller, in politics a Democrat. He was a leader in public enterprises, and was administrator of many estates. For twenty-five years a justice. Deceased.
