Biographical Sketch:
Of Scottish descent. Son of Hugh and Eunice Ann (Newton) McGill. In the spring of 1867 his parents came to Michigan and located on a farm in St. Joseph County. He moved to Grand Rapids in the fall of 1886 and was admitted to practice 9/18/1888, working in the offices of Turner & Carroll until December 1889. In 1890, he formed a partnership with his brother, John H. McGill until 4/1/1892, when John died. He was elected circuit court commissioner for Kent Co., 1892 and 1894. In January 1899 he was appointed assistant to Attorney General Horace M. Oren. Member of the Knights of Pythias. He was living in Lansing, in 1900 and 1910.
