Biographical Sketch:
Son of Henry Peters. He went to work in the tin mines of Cornwall at age 8. He emigrated to America in 1886 and settled in Ishpeming, Marquette County, MI where he worked in the iron mines. After some years, he went to Old Mexico, New Mexico, Utah and California and mined before returning to Ishpeming. In August 1891 he was severely injured in a mining accident. In 1893, he was appointed to a clerkship in the Auditor General's office and began studying law. He was accepted to the bar in Ingham County in October 1894.
