Biographical Sketch:
He moved to Michigan with his parents, Richard and Sarah Jane (McGinnis) Phillips, at age 2. Seven years later they moved to a farm. he is one of the board of directors of the Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance company of Cass, Van Buren and Berrien Counties. In politics he was a Republican, up to the organization of the People's Party, to which he then gave his support. He held the various township offices from school inspector to supervisor.
