Biographical Sketch:
Son of Obadian and Anna [Fanny] (McConnell) Putney. At the age of 16, he came to Michigan where he followed farming and lumbering until December, 1860, when he returned to Lisbon, NY, and engaged in farming. In 1862, he enlisted in Company B, 106th New York volunteer infantry, where he served until June 22, 1865; came to Michigan in March, 1867 and purchased a farm in Speaker Township, Sanilac County. He was supervisor 4 years and has held several local offices. Member of the Masons
