Son of Chauncey and Anna (Lewis) Robinson. In 1836, he came to Michigan with his older brothers, settling in Tekonsha Township, from whence he hauled his grain by ox-team to the market at Jackson. He sold his farm and moved to Battle Creek Township and then to LeRoy Township and Eckford Township. He served as Superintendent of the Calhoun County Poor Farm, Marengo, Calhoun Co., MI
