Biographical Sketch:
Son of Isaac and Elizabeth Jane (DeWitt). He family came to Michigan when he was 7 and settled in Riley Township, Clinton Co. He taught winters and painted summers. He moved to Gratiot county in 1877. After 1885, he devoted his time to house painting, decorating, oil, water colors and scene painting. He served as a school inspector .
