Biographical Sketch:
Was born in Alsace, France, Nov. 1, 1830, son of John and Cathrine Greiner. Emigrated to US (Grosse Pointe, Wayne County, MI) in 1831. Acquired his education principally in night school. Postmaster at Connor’s Creek (Greiner) for 14 years and Justice of the Peace for 8 years. Representative, 2nd District, Wayne County, 1875-76; and Senator from the First District, 1885-86. One of the Directors of Peninsular Fire Insurance Company in 1867.
Notable Facts:
Village of Greiner, now Connor’s Creek, was named after him and he served as its Postmaster for 50 years.
