Biographical Sketch:
Moved to Oxford, Oakland Co., MI around 1841. Taught in Port Gibson, MS, 1857 to 7/1861. 8/1861 escaped through rebel lines to join the 14th Michigan infantry. Entered as a 1st Sgt.; in 1865 became a Lt.Col. Settled in Wenona, later known as West Bay City, after the war. He held many local offices.
