Son of Benjamin & Elizabeth (Fiero) Snyder. Of German descent. Bought a farm near Homer, MI, 1866; sold it in 1876; moved to Marshall several months later to be Register of Deeds until 1/1883. Supervisor of Homer twp 5 yrs. [1873-77] Engaged in the lumber business for a time.
