Biographical Sketch:
Son of Joseph and Mary Sobieski. The family emigrated to the US in 1909. He was brought to Detroit at age 2 from Pennsylvania. He served in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division; employed as an administrative assistant for the Wayne County Board of Auditors; served with the United States Army Signal Corps as message center chief in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and assisted in the organization of the Outer-Van Dyke Post 27 of AMVETS. Member of Knights of Columbus, AMVETS, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Polish National Alliance, Our Lady Queen of Heaven Ushers Club, Catholic Order of Foresters; Holy Name Society; Outer Van Dyke Home Owners Association, Polish National Alliance, and American Society for Public Administration. Died in 1983.
Notable Facts:
In 1940 he was employed as a fox collector.
