Had a successful butchering business at the City Hall Market until 1/10/1877 when he became sheriff of Wayne Co. for 2 terms. Member of the Detroit Common Council 5 yrs, elected alderman in 1891; on the Board of Sewer Commissioners 3 yrs. Member of the Knights Templar and Masons
