Biographical Sketch:
Son of Calvin and Emeline (Stebbins) Beecher. He moved with his family, to Owego, Tioga Co., NY in 1834. He moved to Orleans Co., NY at 21. Moved to Michigan in 1857, settling on a farm in Clayton Township in spring 1858. In addition to farming, he was a fruit-grower and nurseryman. He taught for 12 years, in New York and Michigan, and served as superintendent of schools for many years. He was elected to additional township offices. He was a horticulturalist an published articles on the subject.

Notable Facts:
First to introduce American Holderness cattle to Michigan in 1879. Extensive family history in Chapman(G).
