Biographical Sketch:
Son of George and Hannah (High) Conrad. He began working as a hired hand at 13 and attended school winters. He taught for several years until he enlisted in the army, 1864. He served in the Ohio 180th Infantry, Co. B, from 1864-65, acheiving the rank of corporal. He recommenced teacing until he moved to Michigan in 1868. He was living in Watertown, MI in 1900. He held various local offices, including a term on the county board of school examiners. He was Clinto County superintendent of schools and ownship clerk. member of the MAsons and the GAR.
