Biographical Sketch:
Son of Perry H. and Carrie (Dole) Estee. He began teaching at 16, teaching for 4 years. During his senior year in college, he was a law librarian. He practiced law in Greenville, OH for one and a half years before returning ot Moutn Pleasant, MI in 1881. He served as justice of the peace, school inspector and secretary of the board of school examiners. He was a director of the First National Bank of Mt. Pleasant.

Notable Facts:
His name was John C Freemont Estee but he was known as Free Estee.
