Biographical Sketch:
He was son of Zenas Atwood and Huldah G. Purinton. He came to Ingham Co., MI in 1836. He studied law in the office of Griffin Paddock in Mason. He moved to Gilford in Tuscola Co. in 1854 to farm. In 1855 he returned to the practice of law, remaining there until 1865. He practiced in Ingham Co. for a time before returning to Tuscola Co. He served as Clerk of Ingham County in 1848-49; prosecuting attorney 5 terms first elected in 1860; supervisor for the township of Juniata and for Indian Fields. He was first president of Caro village. Lived in Vassar for many years. Prosecuting attorney for Tuscola Co.; living in Caro in 1880; later moved to Grand Traverse Co., MI
