He graduated from the local high school in 1895, and from Albion College in 1899, receiving an A.B. degree.

Biographical Sketch:
He was the son of Lafayette and Edith May Ripley. For a year he was editor of the Whitehall Forum, and then engaged in the drug business with his father, in Montague. From 1904 to 1916 he served as postmaster at Montague. Since 1919 he was associated with his brother, operating drug stores in Montague and Whitehall. He was affiliated with the F. & A.M. and O.E.S. lodges. Michigan Births and Christenings Index 1867-1911 has birth date of Sept. 27, 1878. Political Graveyard: Died in 1943 (age about 65 years) According to House Resolution No. 10, 1944 House Journal, p. 7, he died 8/31/1943 in Lansing, Michigan
